This amazing town has been my home for over 20 years. As a mom of 3 students in the Monroe School District and community member, it has been an honor serving students, staff and families of this district since my election to the Monroe School Board in November of 2021. During my time as a school board director, I have built relationships with local and state representatives to advocate for our students, staff and district. I have also had the pleasure of engaging hundreds of parents/guardians, students, staff and community members, listening to their valuable input and ideas.

By partnering together, we have been able to accomplish a lot in these last 4 years.

• Early learning education options have been expanded providing students with more access.
• Our dual language program has been extended into middle school
• More spots for our amazing JROTC program have also been made available to our students.
• We have provided more opportunities for community and family engagement and input, which is vital for student success.
• The first 5 year strategic plan, in over a decade, was created with input from hundreds of students, staff, families and community members.
• The community came together and with valuable feedback helped us choose a new superintendent. 
• Unified sports, multi-cultural nights and many other school events have been started at our schools to help our students feel they belong and are valued. 
• We have increased attendance across all of our schools (by addressing the unique individual challenges our students face) and are now among the top school districts in the entire state for attendance growth.
• Our students state testing scores have increased across all 3-subject areas (Math, English Language Arts and Science) with increases ranging from 3.5-11%.

All of this and more would not have been possible without YOU. The collaboration and investment from our families, students, staff and community has been, and continues to be, invaluable to student success and the continued growth and improvement of our school district.

I am running for re-election to continue all of these important partnerships with parents, students, staff and the surrounding community, to prioritize the education of our students, ensure teachers and all staff are supported and equipped with the tools needed to provide a quality education for every student, to provide our students with multiple pathways for learning, to celebrate our students’ successes and achievements at every opportunity, and to continue being fiscally responsible with tax dollars entrusted to the district by you.
